A condition characterised by the restricted ability to open the mouth fully, often occurring as a late side effect of radiation therapy for head and neck cancers. It results from fibrosis and stiffening of the jaw muscles and connective tissues. Symptoms include limited mouth opening, jaw pain, and difficulty chewing and speaking. Management typically involves physical therapy, jaw exercises, and sometimes medication or surgical intervention.
